Annual George Mason Banquet scheduled for June 7
The annual year-end banquet honors a person who has made a significant, lasting contribution to Virginia journalism, as well as this year’s two winners of the Richmond SPJ, SDX Educational Foundation Scholarships and the recipient of the chapter’s Distinguished Service Award.

The chapter also formally elects officers and board of directors members at the affair.

This year’s banquet will again be held at the Richmond Times-Dispatch Hanover Production Facility, just off the US 301 exit from I-295 near Mechanicsville.

The ticket price of $40 a person will include a complimentary outdoor reception (beer, wine and soft drinks) at 6 p.m., followed by Champagne Taste-catered dinner at 7.

The banquet is the chapter’s primary scholarship fundraising activity.
