Paula LaRocque's Book Championship
Writing is now on sale through SPJ. As a fundraising event,
SPJ receives $5 for each book sold. Come out and support your
UNC chapter! Look for the SPJ table in the lobby of Carroll
Hall the week of April 16 - 20, 2001.

| New officers have
been elected for the 2001-2001 year and will be initiated on
April 24, 2001 in Carroll 33 at 5:30. Immediately following
the initiation is a Copy Editing Internship program. The program
is open to all students. This will be the last SPJ program for
the semester. |
The service project
for this year is revamping Professor Frank Fee's copy-editing
skills test website. It includes working out glitches, general
maintenance and improvements. The site will be useful to all
students, J-school students or not. |

| The winners of the Mark of
Excellence Awards were honored at a luncheon March 31 in Ocean
City, Md. Seventy winners were chosen from 141 entries in 33
categories for newspapers and magazines, online publications,
photography, and radio and television broadcast. Click
