Member of the Month

At the end of September, we'll able to choose our first Member of the Month! SPJ officers will select this member based on our new point system. Members earn points by attending meetings, helping out at events, etc. The Member of the Month will be featured here. Stay tuned to see if it's you!

The Next Meeting

Our first meeting will be held early on in fall semester. Look out for our posters! We'll be tabling before the meeting. Look forward to seeing you there!

How To Join

The steps needed to become a member can be found in this packet. Dues and forms must be received as soon as possible. These items can be dropped off in the SPJ mailbox in the College of Journalism Dean's Office. This box is located in the mailroom directly to the left of the Dean's Office (2nd floor of Weimer Hall).

To get the latest updates about the organization:

1. Send an e-mail to listserv@lists.ufl.edu.

2. In the body, write "subscribe socprojourn-l@lists.ufl.edu" and your name in the "Lastname, Firstname" format.

3. When you receive a confirmation e-mail, click the confirmation link or simply reply with the word "ok."

4. If you have any problems, contact President Ashley Hemmy at ahemmy@ufl.edu.

Attendance Policy:
This chapter is now using a point system to reward its members for their participation and dedication to SPJ's mission. The member (excluding officers) with the most points at the beginning of each month will be awarded Member of the Month! This person will have a photo posted on the SPJ board in Weimer and on the Web site. For full details of the point system, download the member packet.

If any members have articles published throughout the semester, please foward us your name and a link to the article to amandam7@ufl.edu. We want to show the world our chapter's work!
