SPJ is sponsoring a Women in Journalism Panel that will be Wednesday, April 9 at 6 p.m. It will be held at Ustler Hall on the second floor (right next to the Racquet Club).
The panel will feature Ann Friedman, the deputy editor of The American Prospect, Britt Peterson, assistant managing editor of The New Republic, Betty Cortina, editor of Latina Magazine and Hearst visiting professional at UF, and Lillian Castro, reporter for The Gainesville Sun. Each journalist will speak about her experiences in the field and then open up to questions from the audience.
There will also be free food and drinks offered. Come with your questions on April 9. If you need any more information, you can contact Lydia Fiser at Lydia621@ufl.edu.

The Telecommunications Advisory Council is giving career and internship advice at a meeting on Thursday, March 27. It will be held in Weimer's Gannett Auditorium at 6:45 p.m. There will be free food at this event.

UF SPJ is holding a "Spring Clean Your Pantry" food drive to benefit the Bread of the Mighty Food Bank from March 24 to April 4. There will be collection bins located throughout Weimer Hall as well as a cash donation jar located in the Student Services Office on the first floor of Weimer.
Members must donate at least five items to the food drive (this includes canned food in addition to nonperishables like pasta, rice and peanut butter). Please clearly mark your name on your items so you will receive credit.

SPJ Members! Come One, Come All! The SPJ North Florida Pro Chapter will be hosting a banquet on Saturday, January 12 beginning at 6:15. There will be an intial cash bar, and then a full dinner beginning at 7 p.m. Guest Speaker for the event will be Stephanie Abrams from the Weather Channel. You all won't want to miss this. Best of all, the Pro Chapter has been kind enough to reduce the entry price from $36 to $15 for students. This is the perfect even to get acquainted with the Pro Chapter and local professionals.
To register, please bring a check the day-of addressed to the North Central Florida SPJ Pro Chapter, or you can pay online through Paypal. Payment Information along with contact information is available through the Pro Chapter's Web site. We hope you all will come and have a great time.

Please leave your information with an exec member during their office hours (held in the student organization office in the 2nd floor student lounge in Weimer), or drop it into our mailbox in the Dean's office before 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
