Panels and speakers will talk about writing better stories for print and broadcast, the future of Internet journalism, preparing for disaster coverage, politics, how to keep our eyes peeled for another Enron and diversity in the newsroom and coverage. Robert Leger, who will become president of SPJ National this September at the national convention in Fort Worth also will join us.

Confirmed speakers include Carolina Garcia, head of the American Society of Newspaper Editors' Diversity Committee and Managing Editor of the San Antonio Express-News; Wayne Slater, the Dallas Morning News' top reporter on the Bush presidential campaign trail and DMN Austin Bureau Chief: Todd Gillman, Region 8 SPJ director and national reporter for the Dallas Morning News; and Dave Garlock, University of Texas journalism instructor and author of several books on writing.
