Welcome Journalists

Welcome to the Kansas City Press Club Web site. We are the local chapter of the National Society of Professional Journalists. We are an active  organization made up of journalists from all media in the metro area,  with a president, four officers and an nine-member board of directors.

The purpose of the club is to promote freedom of the press, responsible journalism, educational programming and scholarships.

• The main event is the awards banquet each spring. This is a chance to show off your best work and be judged by your peers. The deadline for entries and more details are announced  each January.
• Membership: To become a member, contact a Press Club officer or board member, or sign up online. National dues are $72, local dues are $15.There are discounts for  retirees and students. Membership includes a subscription to Quill magazine and the support of this professional chapter through national programs.
