CSUF's SPJ chapter wins outstanding chapter award
SPJ Regional II Director Paul McAfee has selected Cal State Fullerton's SPJ chapter for the Region 11 Outstanding Campus Chapter Award for 2006-07.

The award honors one student chapter per region that has been most active in upholding the missions of the Society during the past year. Certificates will be handed out during the Regional Meetings on Oct. 5 at the 2007 SPJ Convention & National Journalism Conference.

In choosing the Fullerton chapter, McAfee said, “The Cal State Fullerton chapter did an excellent job of organizing and hosting the Region 11 MOE Awards Luncheon, which was separated from our regional conference. The chapter's frequent movie nights have also been successful in attracting students and new members. Their efforts at membership retention have been successful as well.”

The 12 regional campus chapters of the year will be judged against each other with one being named as the 2006-2007 National Campus Chapter of the Year. The national winner will be revealed during the Mark of Excellence Luncheon on Oct. 5.
