The First Amendment to the Bill of Rights of the United States

SPJ & the First Amendment

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

SPJ supports the mission to keep freedom of speech and press at the forefront of governmental laws and issues that not only effect journalists, but the citizens of the United States as well.
