Night of the Gun
Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 8 a.m.
David Carr is a New York
Times reporter who covers culture and writes an
entertaining blog on Hollywood's OScar season
titled, 'The Carpetbagger.'.
But before landing at the Times, Carr underwent
a drama of his own: a devastating crack cocaine
addiction. He writes about this experience in
a searing new memoir called, 'Night of the Gun
-- A reporter investigates the darkest story of
his life. His own.'
Carr will be our guest for a breakfast conversation
when SPJ presents Rocky Talk at 8 a.m. Wednesday,
Aug. 13 in the lobby of the Denver Newspaper Agency
at 101 W. Colfax. This event is part of "Rocky
Talk -- The Art of Conversation" co-sponsored
by the Rocky Mountain News.
The event starts with an 8 a.n. continental breakfast
followed by an 8:30 a.m. talk. Tickets are $15.

Thomas Frank will be our guest at 8 a.m. Monday,
